Communications Museum - Electronic Device Construction Competition, 2027

REGULATIONS

1. Theme: NFC Smart Mart Challenge

Design and manufacture a wireless remote-controlled competition device capable of reading tasks stored on an NFC data card. According to the task instructions, the device must navigate to various task areas within the competition venue within a specified time limit to complete designated tasks involving transport, sorting, shelf restocking, and weighing. Through their participation, contestants will gain a deeper understanding of scientific knowledge, demonstrate their ability to apply and put scientific principles into practice, and foster a spirit of teamwork throughout the process.

2. Qualifications:

All full-time secondary students of Macao can sign up for participation, individually or in groups (maximum 3 students per team). Each individual or team can submit only ONE entry.

Junior Secondary Group - Form 1 to Form 3 students;

Senior Secondary Group - Form 4 to Form 6 students.

3. Prizes:

Both Junior Secondary Group & Senior Secondary Group will be awarded:

1st Prize: Trophy, certificate & MOP3000 gift voucher;

2nd Prize: Trophy, certificate & MOP2500 gift voucher;

3rd Prize: Trophy, certificate & MOP2000 gift voucher;

10 Appreciation Awards without classification of categories: Trophy, certificate & MOP 1,000 gift voucher.

4. Briefing session:

The briefing session is scheduled for 14/11/2026 (Saturday) at 15:00 at the Communications Museum. Online registration to reserve a seat is welcome.

5. Registration & Deadline:

Registration Method: Online registration at the Communications Museum website (www.cmm.gov.mo);

Deadline: From now till 22:00:00 on 30/11/2026 (Monday), as per the time displayed on the Communications Museum's computer system.

6. Competition Arrangements:

The competition will take place at the Communications Museum.

  • Drawing Day: The draw will be held according to the number of teams registered and announced on the Communications Museum's website on 16/12/2026 (Wednesday);
  • Competition Day: Junior Secondary Group on 09/01/2027 (Saturday); Senior Secondary Group on 16/01/2027 (Saturday).
7. Judges:

The organizer will invite professionals to be the jury. The result is subject to the final decision of the jury.

8. Supplementary Rules:

The Supplementary Rules are also part of this "Regulations" document. The organizer reserves the right to interpret, explain or decide on any other issues not covered in the Regulations.

9. Declaration:
  • When extraordinary and urgent situations occur as a result of cases of force majeure, the organizer reserves the rights to suspend or terminate the Competition;
  • Personal data, photos or video images collected in the registration form and competition will be used for the arrangement of activity and handled according to the "Statement of Personal Data Collection" of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau;
  • Outstanding entries will be exhibited in the Communications Museum. The organizer reserves the rights to film, publish, translate, display and promote the entries without prior permission of the participants or remuneration;
  • Participants must collect their works within one month after the Awards Ceremony; uncollected works will be disposed of by the Communications Museum.
