REGULATIONS

1. General Theme: The Fantastic Adventure of the Generator Factory

Welcome to the "Fantastic Generator Factory"! This is a magical factory full of imaginative ideas, waiting for you to become a young inventor and create your own amazing generator! As long as kinetic energy can be converted into electricity, it can shine here. Let us explore the secrets of generators together, unleash creativity, and perfectly combine science and art to embark on a surprising and challenging fantastic adventure.

2. Qualifications:

All full-time primary students enrolled in schools in Macao are eligible to participate, but each participant may only register for one team.

  • Group A - Parent-child Team: Each team may consist of up to 2 junior-primary students (from Primary 1 to 3) and up to 2 parents;
  • Group B - School Team: Each team may consist of up to 3 senior-primary students (from Primary 4 to 6). Schools may register multiple teams.
3. Entry Specifications & Requirements:
  • Teams must design and create a generator device that showcases the creative magic of the "Fantastic Generator Factory";
  • Only three-dimensional installation works are accepted; two-dimensional works will not be accepted;
  • Works must be self-made and assembled; use of ready-made finished generators is not accepted.
  • There is no restriction on the shape of the work, but the size must not exceed 30cm x 30cm x 50cm (height);
  • The work must demonstrate how different forms of kinetic energy are converted into electrical energy. The principle and form are not restricted, but the device must be able to power an electrical appliance, such as an LED;
  • The title of the work shall be proposed by the participating team;
  • Use of environmentally friendly materials is encouraged, and artistic decoration is allowed to make the work both scientific and aesthetically pleasing;
  • Each team may submit only one entry, which must be accompanied by a work description explaining the concept, creativity, and design story.
4. Registration and First Stage Evaluation (Online Submission):
  • Online registration is available at the Communications Museum website (www.cmm.gov.mo) for the First Stage Evaluation. Participants must upload the following materials via the provided link to complete registration.
    • Operation Video: A video clip within one minute to demonstrate the work's functionality. This video is for judges' reference only and will not be scored;
    • Work Description: A single file limited to 1GB in PowerPoint or Keynote format containing text, drawings, sound, and/or images describing the work's concept and operating principle. The description should cover the following points:

    Materials & Techniques List main materials and techniques used. Emphasize material choices, difficulties, and solutions.
    Features & Artistic Expression Describe aesthetic design and artistic elements. Describe visual effects, color matching, and decoration creativity.
    Application Prospects or Imagination Share possible practical applications or future development ideas. Encourage imagination and envision the work's value or improvements.
  • Upon completion of upload and registration, the organizer will issue a confirmation notice.
  • Deadline for online registration and submission: 22:00 on Wednesday, 26 November 2025. Late submissions will not be considered.
5. Second Stage Evaluation (Physical Work Submission):
  • The list of shortlisted entries for the Second Stage Evaluation will be announced on the Communications Museum website in mid-December;
  • Teams notified to enter the Second Stage shortlisted entries must submit the same three-dimensional physical work as described in the first stage to the Reception of the Communications Museum within the specified deadline;
    • Late submissions or works exceeding the size limit will not be judged;
    • Ensure the work is securely packaged and labeled with the team name and contact details;
    • The physical work must be stable and safe. The organizer is not responsible for any damage.
6. Prizes:
  • Up to three Excellence Awards per group: winners will receive a trophy, certificate, and MOP 2,000 coupon. If the overall quality does not meet standards, the number of awards may be reduced;
  • Group B Participation Award: A trophy awarded to the school submitting the most works meeting entry requirements;
  • Group B Supervisors: Up to two supervisors per team in Group B will receive one souvenir each, with no duplicate gifts to the same person;
  • All shortlisted works will be publicly exhibited at the Communications Museum.
7. Judging:

Professional judges invited by the organizer and co-organizer will make the final decision.

8. Evaluation Criteria:

9. Declaration:
  • Current employees of Macao Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) are not allowed to participate in the Activity;
  • Personal data, collected for this activity and on the registration form will be used solely for the arrangement of activity and handled according to the Statement of Personal Data Collection of CTT;
  • The content of the creative work cannot contain any indecent, violent or illegal content comply with the laws of Macao SAR;
  • Entries must be original, unpublished, unawarded, and free of copyright restrictions;
  • The organizer reserves the right to use submitted works for promotion in the Communications Museum or other media without prior notice or remuneration;
  • Award-winning works will be exhibited at the Communications Museum. Details of prize collection will be notified separately;
  • Award-winning works will be returned after exhibition. CTT retains copyright and usage rights of winning works.
