Stamp design is an art creation. Firstly, Macao Post will discuss with the stamp designer on the content of the stamp, way of expression and finishing of the stamp so as to create a hand-drawing or electronic artwork for the design. When the artwork is approved, some works for color separation will be prepared. Then the design for the inscription of stamps, page layout and emission chop will be carried out. After this, the artwork for the whole set of stamps is completed and it will be sent out for color separation.
The stamps of Macao are all printed by the printing houses from abroad or in mainland China because there is no qualified secure printing house in Macao. This issue of panda stamps is printed on adhesive stamp paper by offset lithography in Beijing PSPH. There is a set of color codes at the margin of the stamp sheet to mark the colors used for printing the issue. During the printing process, Macao Post will receive various proofs from the supplier for verifying the printing quality to ensure that it meets the requirement.
After the stamp printing is finished, the printing sheet will be produced. It will be cut into stamp sheets and then perforated. After the finished product is examined, Macao Post will use it to produce First Day Covers, Brochures, etc. This issue of stamps is designed by Mr. Au Man Hou. It includes a set of two stamps of different face values, each of size 30 x 40 mm, and a souvenir sheet of 138 x 90 mm.
Show real and virtual panda stamps from all over the world.
Welcome to bring cameras and take photos with our Giant Panda doll at the panda background!
After taking the picture and selecting the background, visitors can print their postcards by placing their Entrance Cards against the card reader. In addition to mailing the postcard by buying a stamp at the Museum Shop, visitors can also download their postcards from the museum website (http://macao.communications.museum) by inputting the code printed on the upper right-hand corner of the postcard. Moreover they can write their own messages and email the postcard to their friends.
Visitors can write down their messages to Giant Panda at the rest area.
Visitors can choose their favorite images and backgrounds to compose the stamps. Then they can print out the stamps by activating the printer with their Entrance Cards. After perforating the stamps, visitors can use it to make bookmarks or other items.
Visitors can choose the background and then take photos by activating the camera with their Entrance Cards. They can choose among the colored, nostalgic or black-and-white printing effects. If you want to try being "invisible", you may hold the green cloth and then see what happens.
Communications Museum designs and creates this interactive game by making use of the characteristics of conductors and insulators and the theories of closed electric circuits. Smart visitors like you can surely find the way out from the labyrinth!
