Stamp Festival Express, 2014

3-Dimensional Stamps

To celebrate the World Post Day, Communications Museum is launching a series of activities! The Museum will be open to the public on 9 October free of charge. Visitors are welcome to visit the Museum from 9:30 to 17:30

Postal/Philately Gallery will be re-exhibiting the popular "Kid's Playthings" interactive games of the Stamp Festival last year. From the "Large Stamp Projector", visitors can view stamps related to Music, which is the theme of the World Post Day this year. They can also have a close view of the "3-Dimensional Stamps" that are made of different materials and by different techniques, by selecting the philatelic items with the movable magnifying glass.

In the other part of the gallery, a huge 3-dimensional "Make a Pose" is set up for visitors to take photos with their own cameras. The design has used the winning artwork of the Draw My Story of Stamps Contest last year.

Participants of the "Draw My Story of Stamps Contest, 2014" are reminded to submit their work to Communications Museum before 17:30 on 17 October 2014 (Friday). For details of the contest and application form, please call or browse the Museum website.

Biomedical Engineering Exchange Trip for Teachers - Singapore

The Biomedical Engineering Exchange Trip for Teacher - Singapore, organized by the Macau Society of Biomedical Engineering, sponsored by Macao Foundation, Tertiary Education Services Office, Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, IEEE-EMB Hong Kong - Macau Joint Chapter and, co-organized by Communications Museum will be launched in November. Through this trip, we hope that together with the teachers of Macao, we can learn more about the development and prospects of biomedical engineering in Singapore. Subsequently, we hope to encourage more students of Macao to select the related subjects for their further studies. All full-time primary and secondary teachers of Science subjects are welcomed to join. Teachers of Physics, Biology and Chemistry will be given the priority. Number of entries is limited. Interested teachers, please register online at the Museum website before 17:30 on 10 October 2014 (Friday).

Science and Arts Activity for Primary Students

Organized by the Macao Society of Biomedical Engineering and Communications Museum, the Science and Art Activity for Primary Students is of the theme "Component Revamp". Participants will use different electronic components and simple tools to create a 3-dimensional object. This year there will be Family & Friends Group and School Group for participants of different levels to join. The activity will be held on 6 December 2014. Winners of the three best works and their supervisors will also be invited to join "A Tour at Hong Kong Museums".

Electronic Device Construction Competition of Communications Museum, 2015

In order to encourage local secondary school students to employ their theoretical scientific knowledge on practical experiments, Communications Museum and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers of Macao will launch the Electronic Device Construction Competition in October. This year the theme is "Fighting for Every Gram". Full-time students of Macao secondary schools can compete individually or in groups. The competition is divided into two categories: Junior Secondary Group or Senior Secondary Group. The final eight teams of each category will be awarded trophies, winning certificates, book coupons and attractive prizes. All competing devices will be displayed at the Museum after the competition. Two explanatory sessions in Cantonese will be held in the Communications Museum Auditorium at 14:00 (Junior Secondary Group) and 16:00 (Senior Secondary Group), on 18 October 2014.
