CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

Communications Museum is organizing a series of Christmas and New Year special activities for the period between 15th December 2009 and 10th January 2010. Let's share the joy of the coming Christmas and New Year together!

Christmas stamps from all over the world will be projected on Large Stamp Projection. There will be two new Christmas backgrounds for Personal Picture Postcard in the Postal / Philately Gallery. At Make a Pose area, you can become "Santa Claus" by taking photos at his paper-board costume. Come dress up Mr. Snowman at "My Snowman" and take photos of your masterpiece. We also have a special game "Santa Claus - Go! Go! Go!" for you to distribute Christmas presents throughout the big and small streets of Macao in our remote control Christmas post car. After the presents are safely delivered and the mission is completed, the participant will be awarded a secret present.

The Greenscreen Studio in the Telecommunications Gallery will also have new backgrounds for the festival. Our interesting game "Automatic Basketball Shooting Device" allows you to shoot the goal. There will also be a science demonstration "Transmission by Sound and Light Beams" in the gallery. The workshop "Optical Fibers DIY" will be held on every opening day at 11:00 and 16:00. Participants will learn how to make festival decorations with optical fibers for this Christmas.

MUSEUM WITHOUT BORDER

Communications Museum has always been enthusiastic in organizing activities together with the schools. One of them is the "Everyday Life and Me" Stamp Exhibition at Pui Ching Middle School organized with Pui Ching Philatelic Club for celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Reunification of Macao with Motherland and the 120th Anniversary of the Founding of the Pui Ching Middle School. From 27th to 29th November, thematic collections of students, parents and teachers of Pui Ching will be exhibited. On 29th November, the artwork of stamp design and production process of the issue "120th Anniversary of the Founding of the Pui Ching Middle School" will be shown at the first day of circulation of stamps, and the stamp designer, Mr. Lai Ieng, is invited by the School to hold a signature party after the new stamp issue ceremony at 12:30 noon.

Besides, Communications Museum is invited by Catholic College Estrela do Mar to participate in their Open Day event by hosting booth games and workshops on 7th December in order to bring the fun and joy of philately and telecommunications to the school.
