To celebrate the 123rd Anniversary of Macao Post and the 1st Anniversary of Communications Museum of Macao, the awarding ceremony of several competitions will be held in the Auditorium of the Museum, in the afternoon of March 1, 2007.

"Communications Museum of Macao, 2007 - Electronic Device Construction Competition"

The Competition, organized by the Communications Museum of Macao and co-organized by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Macau, was well received by the students with the submission of 34 works for the junior group and 80 works for the senior group. The final competition was held on February 27 and the final contestants of each group were required to explain and demonstrate their works to a judging committee, composed by representatives of University of Macau, the Macau Institution of Engineers, Macau University of Science and Technology, The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Macau and the Museum. Starting from March 1, the best works will be exhibited in the Temporary Gallery of the Museum.

The winners (junior group) of the theme "Make a Morse Code Telegraph" are:

  • 1st Prize: Ao Ieong Kuok Wai, So Chi Hon - Escola Kwong Tai;
  • 2nd Prize: Chan Lei Lei, Si Lai I - Escola Hou Kong;
  • 3rd Prize: Tomás McGuire, Andreia Delgado, Tomás Mota, Vitória Cardoso - Escola Portuguesa de Macau.
  • Excellent works:
    • Chu Hou In - Escola Secundária Pui Va;
    • Sio Mei Sin, Kuok Si Wan, Ho Ka Ieng, Leong Ka Ian - Colégio de Santa Rosa de Lima, Secção Chinesa;
    • Leong On Iu, Leong Hou Wan - Escola: Instituto Salesiano da Imaculada Conceição.

The winners (senior group) of the theme "Make a Permanent Magnet Speaker" are:

  • 1st Prize: Iu Meng Lon, Lam Wai Teng, Fong Chi Man, Kok I Iao - Colégio Perpétuo Socorro Chan Sui Ki;
  • 2nd Prize: Wong Ka Seng, Cheng Pou San, Charles Peter Hugentobler, Chao Pok Man - Colégio Perpétuo Socorro Chan Sui Ki;
  • 3rd Prize: Lao Chi Kin - Escola Pui Tou
  • Excellent works:
    • Chu Luzia, Cheang Un U, Kam Ka Kei, Lee Ip Man - Escola: Colégio de Santa Rosa de Lima - Secção Chinesa;
    • Leong Kai Hong - Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional.

Annual prizes for "Stamp Design Competition"

Starting from March 1, the best three annual selected designs from monthly first-prizes, and other monthly winning designs from March 2006 to January 2007 will be exhibited in the Temporary Gallery of the Museum.

The annual winners are:

  • 1st Prize: Lau Sok Man, theme "Design a new Postman's uniform"
  • 2nd Prize: Lam Chi Ieng, theme "Christmas"
  • 3rd Prize: Cheong Mei Kei, theme "World Cup Soccer"
