Generally speaking, postal objects (letter, parcel... etc.) can be sent by Surface, Air or EMS. In addition to the above services, customer may use also the Registration or Registration & Advice of Delivery Service.
In order to select the best mailing method, it is important to know the following terms:
Letter: a written or printed communication directed to a person or an organization weighing no more than 2 kg.
Parcel: Objects packed in a postal box directed to a person or an organization weighing more than 2 kg.
Surface Service: a postal service that uses terrestrial or maritime means of transportation of low speed, so it is relatively cheap and not fast.
Air Service: a postal service that uses aerial means of transportation, so it is more rapid and more expensive than the Surface Service.
EMS: a postal service that uses aerial means of transportation and priority distribution, so it is more rapid and more expensive than the Air Service.
Registration Service: a postal service that permits the sender to receive a proof of mailing of a postal object and enquire the status of delivery.
Registration & Advice of Delivery Service: a postal service that permits the sender to receive a proof of mailing and obtain confirmation of delivery to the addressee.
Customs Declaration Form: it is used for sending abroad any objects which are not written documents or letters.
