Regulations

1. Objective: To encourage primary students to understand science and technology in our daily life so as to increase their initiative of "Dare to experiment. Dare to discover".

2. Theme: The theme of the activity is "Component Revamp". Primary students will learn about different electronic components and then create a 3-dimensional object with the components.

3. Qualifications:

All full-time students from primary 4 to 6 in Macao are qualified for participation either individually or in groups of two persons.

  • Category 1: Primary 4
  • Category 2: Primary 5
  • Category 3: Primary 6

4. Prizes:

  • The best three works will be selected from each category. The participant(s) of every winning group will each be awarded a certificate and a quota for joining "A Tour at Hong Kong Museums".
  • The supervisor of the winning groups (parent or teacher) will be awarded a quota for joining "A Tour at Hong Kong Museums".
  • "A Tour at Hong Kong Museums": The quota for the tour is non-transferrable and will not be repeatedly awarded to the same person. The organizer will sponsor the ferry tickets, transportation, lunch and insurance for the tour which is held on 11 November 2012 (Sunday). The participants will visit the Hong Kong Science Museum and the Hong Kong Museum of History. If the participant decides to forego the tour, no compensation will be granted.

5. Registration and Deadline:

  • Registration: Submit the completed Registration Form to Communications Museum (Estrada de D. Maria II, No. 7, Macau), or Register Online at the museum website (http://macao.communications.museum).
  • Operating Hours: 9:30am - 5:30pm; Tuesdays to Sundays.
  • Registration period: From 1 September 2012 till 5:30pm on 27 September 2012 (Thursday)

6. Free Tools Training Class: The class is for beginners to learn the basic electronic components and how to operate the tools. Students are welcomed to join but it is not a compulsory class.

7. Judges:

The organizers (Macau Society of Biomedical Engineering and Communications Museum) will invite professionals to be the judges. The result is subject to the final decision of the judges.

8. Holding of Activity and Announcement of Results:

  • Holding of activity: Communications Museum on 6 October 2012 (Saturday). The time and sequence will be announced later.
  • Announcement of Result: To be announced on Communications Museum website on 9 October 2012. The works will be exhibited until 30 December 2012.

9. Remark

The Supplementary Rules are also part of this "Regulations" document. The Organizer reserves the right to interpret, explain or decide on any other issues not covered in the Regulations.

10. Declaration

  • Personal data, photos or video images collected in the activity and registration form will be used for the arrangement of activity and handled according to the "Personnel Data Collection Policy Statement" of Macao Post.
  • All submitted entries may be exhibited in the Communications Museum. The Organizer reserves the rights to film, publish, translate, display and promote the entries without prior permission of the participants or remuneration.
