Mr. SZETO Yuen Kit

Mr. SZETO Yuen Kit received the Bachelor Degree (Art Education) from the Warwick University (U. K.), and the Master of Philosophy Degree (Chinese Art History) from the Hong Kong University (H. K.). He was also granted the Teacher's Certificate by the College of Education (H. K.), and the Diploma in Museum Studies by the Sydney University (Australia). Since 1986, he has been working in the Hong Kong Museum of Art and is now the Curator responsible for the Xubaizhai and the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Collections. His major field of research is Ming & Qing paintings and also on subjects related to Chinese art education. He has published many academic articles in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Taiwan and also delivered lectures in universities and educational institutes. He is now an academic member of the Beijing Tsinghua University and adviser of the Hong Kong Baptist University. Important exhibitions on Chinese paintings and calligraphy organized by him include "The Pride of China: Masterpieces from the Palace Museum" and "The Prosperous Cities: Paintings from the Liaoning Provincial Museum", and also many solo exhibitions of 20th century masters including Qi Baishi, Li Keran, Lin Fengmian, , Huang Yongyu, Pan Tianshou & Wu Guanzhong. From 2004-06, he broadcast a series of talks on Chinese art appreciation at the Radio Hong Kong.
