The 5th "Booking Service Guide for Visits"

PREFACE

The Communications Museum has been in service for eight years since 2006. Throughout the years, we have been accumulating experience in receiving visitors in order to improve and enhance our service. We always rethink about what kinds of services our visitors need, no matter whether they come to our Museum or we go to the schools to provide on-site service. With the rapid social and economic growth and widespread use of technology, people are becoming more interested in the science theories of communication in the past or technology products used nowadays. Similarly, stamp collection which has a long history is having continuous progression. We shall continue to work hard in finding new strategies to attract visitors and motivate them to use the Museum¡¦s facilities, serving the community and staying in touch with the public.

The 5th publication of the ¡§Booking Service Guide for Visits¡¨ is issued for the 2014-2015 scholastic year. Apart from the ¡§General Guided Visit¡¨, there are twenty-five thematic guided visits and three workshops for the Postal and Philatelic area under the topics of ¡§History of Macao Post¡¨, ¡§Foundations of Communication¡¨, ¡§Postal Service¡¨, ¡§Stamps and Collection¡¨ and ¡§General Mathematics¡¨. For Telecommunications, there are six thematic guided visits under the topics of ¡§Electromagnetism¡¨, ¡§Transmission and Broadcasting¡¨ and ¡§Telegraph and Telephone¡¨, seven science demonstrations, twenty-two science workshops and eleven electronic circuit courses.

Communications Museum will continue to put more efforts in promoting student competitions and other activities, including the Electronic Device Competition, Science and Arts Activity for Primary Students, summer activities, science camps, etc. We have enriched the content for the ¡§Customized School Activities¡¨ and ¡§Museum without Boundary¡¨. We welcome schools and teachers to book our guided visits or workshops for the students, and give us their feedbacks or suggestions. At the same time, we also hope that by participating in community activities and organizing special exhibitions, such as the International Museum Day Fair, International Children¡¦s Day Fair, Stamp Festival, ¡§My Favorite Stamps of Macao¡¨ stamp poll, ¡§Draw My Story of Stamps¡¨ competition and so on, we can encourage them to visit the museum with their family and friends in their leisure time.

Finally, I am truly grateful to the schools, organizations and tourists for their care, participation and great support to the Communications Museum. Let¡¦s work hard together to bring more colors to our bright future!
