15TH ANNIVERSARY OF COMMUNICATIONS MUSEUM

In celebrating its 15th anniversary, Communications Museum will be opened to the public free of charge on March 1st and a special exhibition "Fight Against the Epidemic Together" and two renewed permanent exhibitions "History of CTT" and "Radio in Macao" will also be launched on that day.


Special Exhibition "Fight Against the Epidemic Together"

In 2020, in response to the call from the WHO, aiming to promote and educate the people, to commend the heroes in the fight against the epidemic, many countries and regions have issued commemorative or donated stamps, in additional to their issuance plan, in order to give supports and to raise funds for the fight against the epidemic collectively. This action also brings up the "COVID-19" as a new philatelic theme. The stamps on display in this temporary exhibition are issued by postal administrations from different countries and regions. Despite their presentation in different languages, formats or materials, "Fight Against the Epidemic Together" is the mutual belief and determination of all people around the world. The unremitting perseverance of medical professionals and people from all over the world who joined together in a concerted effort to face difficulties and challenges, aiming at a steadfast mission to endeavor all efforts in overcoming the epidemic and resuming back to normal life. At the same time, two documentary films "Stamp Memory of the Great Spirit of Combating the COVID-19 Epidemic" and "Unsung Hero" published respectively by China Post Group and Macau Civil Servants Federation, will also be broadcasted at the exhibition galley and Mini-Theatre.


Renewed Permanent Exhibitions "History of CTT" and "Radio in Macao"

The permanent exhibitions in the first and second floor in Communications Museum have been renewed. In the first floor, the exhibition "History of CTT" showcases the 137 years' history of CTT since its establishment in 1884. Currently, CTT covers three major business areas which includes postal, telecommunications, and postal savings service. In addition to these areas, it also provides other services such as Philately, e-SignTrust Certification as well as Communications Museum. In the past, CTT have undertaken various responsibilities and provided different types of services in response to the social development and market needs, such as Supervision of the Electronic Industries, Radio Broadcasting and Operator of Telecommunications services. Macao's first radio station was launched in 1933 and was located in the Headquarters Building at that time. The exhibition "Radio in Macao" in the second floor of the Museum is dedicated to showcase this period of history and allow visitors to experience the process of broadcasting in an interactive way.
