Regulation for Macao SAR's Candidates

Objective
By supporting the Postage Stamp Design Competition organized by Korea Post, Communications Museum hopes to promote stamp collection and international cultural exchange, as well as to encourage those who are interested in painting to participate in stamp design. [Application Form]
Categories and Themes
Categories Subject
Youth category: Family Express love for family and realize its importance and the joy and happiness family gives us.
General category: Preserve the Polar Regions and Glaciers Warn about the seriousness of the abnormal climate phenomena message - we must save the Polar region through protection of the glaciers.
Eligibility
  • Youth Category - 17 years old or below
  • General Category - No restriction
Submission guidelines
  • Number of entries submitted: No limit
  • Size of design : 15 cm (width) x 20 cm (length) or 20 cm (width) x 15 cm (length)
  • On an A4-sized hardboard, the entry work should be attached on the front and the application form on the back. Entries may be submitted in person or by registered mail.
  • Only works that have not been submitted to other contests shall be accepted. If works are in computer graphics format, a softcopy on computer disk should be attached (Remarks by Korea Post: Works done manually shall be preferred during screening).
  • There are no restrictions in the range of materials and colors used in the works but three-dimensional works will not be accepted.
  • The design shall not incorporate postage stamp names (themes, subtitles) or the numbers representing the denomination or year of issue.
  • Application and submission period
    • Mailing by Communications Museum: Submit to Communications Museum (Estrada de D. Maria II, No 7, Macau) before September 15, 2010. (Remarks: Only works submitted by Macao residents through the Museum winning the Grande Prize or Award of Excellence are entitled to obtain flight sponsorship of Macao Post)
    • Mailing by participant directly to Korea Post: Mail to the following address on or before September 17, 2010 (Only works that arrive at Korea Post on or before September 30, 2010 will be eligible.) Mailing address:

Screening of entries and announcement of winners
  • Judges will be named by Korea Post among experts in fine arts, postage stamps, culture and science.
  • Screening period: October 2010
  • Winning entries shall be announced on the web page of Korea Post and by individual notification on October 22, 2010.
Prize Awarding
An awards ceremony will be held during November or December 2010.

Remarks by Korea Post
  • The works for the "Guidance Teacher Award" will be selected taking into consideration the participation performance and award-winning performance of the pertinent school (educational institute).
  • Please be advised that the submitted entries shall NOT be returned. Korea Post shall retain all rights pertinent to the prize-winning designs, including but not limiting to copyrights, PR rights and so forth.
  • If the prize-winning works are deemed inappropriate designs for stamps, they may not be issued as stamps.
  • Prize-winning designs may be modified or trimmed as necessary at the discretion of Korea Post.
  • If a prize-winning work is confirmed to be a product of plagiarism, any prize awarded will be considered null and void, any prize money paid will be recovered and the prizewinner will be prosecuted according to related laws.
Remarks by Communications Museum
  • Only participants who submitted their works through Communication Museum and who win the Grand Prize or Award of Excellence will be qualified for the Macau-Korea round-trip air ticket (Economic class, 1 set per winner/teacher) as sponsored by Macao Post to attend the awards ceremony in Korea.
  • The air tickets presented by Macao Post are non-refundable and non-transferrable. They will only be awarded to the winner or guidance teacher once, with no replication.
  • If a prize-winning work is confirmed to be a product of plagiarism, any prize awarded will be considered null and void, any prize money paid will be recovered.
