Communications Museum Special Activities - Warm & Happy Festivals

In celebration of the International Museums Day, Mother's Day and International Children's Day, Communications Museum is organizing the "Beloved Mother's Day" and "Joyful Children's Day" special activities in May and June. All visitors, especially families, are welcomed to take photos at the "Make a Pose - Giant Panda and I", view the "How Giant Panda Stamp of Macao are Made" exhibition and make "Personal Picture Postcard". Schools and associations are welcome to book our fun and easy workshops for students to make special gifts for their families!

I. "Beloved Mother's Day" Special Activities
From May 3 to 22, schools or associations that book our Basic Guided Visit can add our special workshop. Kindergarten and Primary 1 to 3 students can join the "Let's Make a Pop-Heart Card" workshop to make their own Mother's Day cards. Primary 4 to 6 students can join the "Handmade Card with Secret Message" workshop. They will learn about message encoding and decoding, and apply this knowledge to make special greeting cards with secret messages to their mothers and beloved ones.
II. "Joyful Children's Day" Special Activities
Between May 24 and June 30, schools or associations that booked our designed Thematic Guided Visit can add the corresponding special workshop. Students are encouraged use their creativity to make gifts. Details include:
For Kindergarten 2 & 3 students: Thematic Guided Visit "Non-Verbal Languages" + Workshop "Magical Fan"
During the 90-minute visit, our facilitators will make use of interactive games to introduce the different ways of communication and how to use sound, symbols, body languages and facial expressions to convey human messages. Participants will also be invited to show what they have just learned through live demonstrations. Then our facilitators will teach them how to make their own magical fan with the use of paper plates. They will create images on both sides of the fan by drawing and using stickers. Then when they rotate the fan speedily, an interesting animated image will appear. It's great fun!
For Primary 1 to 3 students: Thematic Guided Visit "I am a Letter - II" + Workshop "A Message to My Family"
In the 90-minute visit, our facilitators will explain about envelopes, stamps and postal service. Participants will be invited to take part in a role play to identify the correct use and positions of stamps, name and address of sender and recipient, respectively. Then they will be provided with materials to design and make their own aerogramme. This not only helps them solidify what they have just learned about the types of letter post, but also gives them an opportunity to actually write a letter to their friends or families.
For Primary 4 to 6 students: Thematic Guided Visit "Look at Macao, Search for Macao Post" + Workshop "Pillar Box DIY"
During the 90-minute visit, our facilitators will introduce the history of postal facilities in Macao and share the interesting information of post stations with participants. Then participants will be provided with colorful cardboard paper to create their own pillar box.
